An archaeologically interesting place is ?ertova pec, 15 km from the spa, where during the Ice Age prehistoric people have settled. Time stands still and the walls whisper eternal legends about the cruel owners and the bloody Countess Báthory in the nearby castle ruins of Tematín, Beckov and ?achtice. Trnava, the "Slovak Rome?, as well as the town of Nitra, offer beautiful religious architecture from different periods. The town of Tren?ín with its stunning castle built on a high rock is described in many legends.
